Buffalo Fire Apparatus Co. Buffalo, NY.
The first fire truck I owned was a 1947 Buffalo fire truck. It was a 2 door, hardtop, 750 gallon pumper with all the original equipment including the ladders and hoses. The pump worked great and pumped a lot of water. We have entered many parades with her. We let another family adopt her so we could buy our current fire truck.
Our current Truck came all the way from upper Maine near the Canadian border. This beautiful truck is a 1937 Buffalo fire truck. It has an open-front, 750 gallon pumper with all the original equipment including the ladders and hoses. When we first purchased the truck she was mostly restored but needed a new paint job. We have painted her to look brand new, a fire engine red! We have been in many parades with her and have had many trips to Baskin Robbins for ice cream.
We will deliver Santa at Red Rock Country Club again this year for their annual Children's Christmas Party. The lights and siren will be going the whole way!
All in all, fire engine ownership is something I definitely recommend. From the smile she puts on people's faces, to the roar of her motor, to the high-pitch of the siren, and her massive size, makes having a fire engine a very enjoyable hobby.
