Founded in 2004, Biodiesel of Las Vegas specializes in the production and resale of ASTM quality biodiesel harvested from various feedstocks. Our proven batching process allows us to use existing economically viable oils (e.g. vegetable oil, used cooking grease and animal fats) and future cellulosic and algae oils.
By the end of 2004, Biodiesel of Las Vegas emerged as the first commercially viable biodiesel producing enterprise in Nevada. The original pilot plant successfully expanded its production capacity to 4.0 million gallons per year ("mgy") of ASTM quality biodiesel. In the spring of 2007, Biodiesel of Las Vegas began construction on a state-of-the-art biodiesel production facility.
Located on six acres in North Las Vegas near the Interstate 15 and North 215 Beltway Interchange is the site of BLV's strategic expansion. We have access to a major interstate, the Union Pacific Railroad, Kinder Morgan, Nellis Air Force Base and a handful of bulk fuel distributors within a one-mile radius of the site. We are also positioned to link petroleum diesel piped in from southern refineries to northern Nevada by rail, either blended with biodiesel at our facility or at its final destination. At maximum capacity, the BLV facility will be capable of producing up to 34 mgy of biofuel.
